't Waterhuis - Ostend, Belgium
Horeca
As early as 1632, Guillaume Van Dycke sold potable water at this place to brewers, the city and ships. For many years, his successors, managers of Het Waterhuis, would have the sole right to sell potable water to the ships. That water was kept in a citerne under the house. It was not until 1923 that Ostend was connected to the supply pipe of potable water from the Bocq (river).
Together with city partner Interior by Cornelis, the building underwent a complete metamorphosis in 2023. Castle Line's roxy chairs in striking pink velours were chosen for the interior, combined with bistro tables with black marble-look tabletops and black table legs.
